Raw milk is one of those things that are against the law to sell in certain states since it’s not pasteurized.
“Commercial distribution of packaged raw milk is prohibited in most countries. However, 28 US states allow sales of raw milk, and in other parts of the world, raw milk can often be bought direct from the farmer.”
Each state has their own laws unfortunately. I wish it was available everywhere. Organicpastures.com will ship it to all 50 states. To my knowledge, raw milk is only sold on store shelves in CA, CT, ME, NM, SC, and WA. In New York (and elsewhere) you may be able to find a farm source near you who will sell it to you for “pet consumption” (due to laws they have to word it this way) or through a cow-share program. You buy part of their cow, they milk it for you. This makes it legal. I live in Michigan and have joined such a program (Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area). Find the nearest source (any state) at http://www.realmilk.com.
