Organic food is grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
Organic foods are made without pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics, artificial fertilizer, etc. So in all, it’s better for you in that you reduce the amount of chemicals that go into your body. And they’re better for the environment, the organisms, and the soil they’re grown in.
Organic food is food without the added hormones and vitamins, chemicals and pesticides.
Honestly, the best place to get organic foods are from farmers markets and/or organic food stores. You know your getting top quality that way.
Also, I might add that I wouldn’t buy ‘Organic’ labeled items from regular supermarkets. Since Organic is all the rave right now, generic brands have changed their packaging to promote it as organic, so you’ll re-buy the product. Sneaky huh?
food that is certified organic is grown, harvested, processed and prepared, or fed, 100% without pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, or any added chemicals. the food is totally natural, so yes, it is in a way healthier, in that you are not ingesting any of these chemicals yourself. certified organic foods tend to be more expensive than conventionally grown foods, but in my opinion it’s worth it for the better quality of goods that you receive.
Organic food is supposed to be healthier, but it isn’t. All agriculture, both organic and conventional, use pesticides and herbicides (most of the answerers are saying that organic farming does not use pest/herb -icides; they are wrong). The difference is that organic farming uses organic rather than artificial pesticides and herbicides. Organic proponents claim that organic pesticides and herbicides are less harmful for you than artificial pesticides and herbicides. There is no evidence to support this. Neither of them cause much of a problem because very little remains on the food when you eat it.
Organic farming is also bad for the environment, contrary to what many proponents claim, because farmers have to plant more to make up for crops lost due to pests and disease. The result of more planting is more land use, which is always bad for the environment.
Furthermore the U.S. standards for organic produce are very low, meaning that most “organic” produce is nearly identical to regular produce, except that it costs a lot more. So by buying organic food you are buying an identical product for more money. As a side note, most organic food you see in the stores are sold by the same companies that sell regular produce, so you are not supporting local farmers or anything like that when you buy organic. Either way the money goes to large corporations.
organic food is grown without the use of pesticides and other chemicals such as preservatives and other steroids that help it to grow faster. i try to buy it as often as possible, but it dosent last very long, and for some reason is expensive. :/

To days farming makes a mockery of Organics notions of clean and pure simply by increasing the prices equal
Please if possible start your own garden
Normal people eat non organic food, and hippies eat the organic stuff.
